Please convert your pledges into donations. We still need to collect $7 Million by September 1. The sooner we can do this, the better. And please make checks out to Saving Sweet Briar.
If you have any questions or forgot how much you actually pledged please call Elizabeth Smith at the Saving Sweet Briar campaign office in Atlanta at 404 832 9210

1- Student Intent to Return To Sweet Briar College Form:
2 – Students previously admitted for the fall of 2015

(including scholarships applications. Letter of recommendation needed & personal statement required)
Please share this with any other returning, new, or prospective students. Thank you
There are still concerns about the Junior Year Abroad. Heather McKoy Shumaker messaged Teresa Tomlinson and received the following reply:
“Heather – I have responded on-line and to many inquiries on this. The board takes this issue seriously and is doing everything legally possible to make sure the JYA programs come back next year. We are not inexperienced or uninformed. Suggestions to the contrary are incorrect. We have requested the President to set about to recall the programs under the terms of the agreement negotiated by others that none of us would have ever agreed to, by the way. Thank you for your interest and we expect formal action to be taken no later than our next in person board meeting on August 14th, well within any deadlines. It is better to right and achieve your goal than to be fast and fail. Feel free to share my response far and wide. We also have the bones of a board page on-line now and look forward to expanding that for future information dissemination.”

WRITE A THANK YOU NOTE CAMPAIGN

We all have a lot to be thankful for saving Sweet Briar and one of them is Facebook. Lets all get thank you cards and send it to Corp Facebook with the same return address
134 Chapel Road
Sweet Briar, VA.
I will set a date two weeks from now that we all send the letter in the mail. If you miss the date still send it. But if we can have the mail arrive the same day, we are not only thanking them but showing the power of Facebook.
Since it is hard to contact Mark Zuckerberg the creator of Facebook because many of the profiles are fake pages. I came up with the idea to get a bunch of people to send a thank you letter to Facebook headquarters in CA since it is more personal and it shows the power of Facebook to the people who work so hard to run it. The reason why people want to do this is Facebook has been a platform to connect students to save the college without it we would have no phone numbers, e-mails or ways to connect so quickly. What is funny about all of this was Mark created Facebook for college students to connect to each other as they moved away from their home towns. So he may get a pretty big kick out of this! They also like to note how Facebook has gather people to fight various causes.

Sweet Briar Employees. My company is doing a giveaway of 10k to a college. Even if you have nothing to do with ticketing enter anyway! I sat in on a marketing meeting this week and they said there were not many entries because everyone at the tradeshow a thought they had to be box office employees to win, the only requirement is that you must be an employee of the institution. Pass this around to SBC Employees!
Apparently the odds are really good to win $10,000 for the school. So, please, if you are employed by Sweet Briar participate!

Help, please. ’97 would like to raffle off some of our cow tag stash – either as a straight raffle (buy tickets, where ticket $ = donation) or a hybrid, where donation receipts earn you a raffle ticket. My Judge Judy/Law & Order law degree isn’t going to cut it. Can an actual lawyer please help us determine a legit way to do this? Thanks in advance.

My friend and colleague, Laura Lenhert, is working on pottery again, so those of you who were interested may now contact her and place your orders. What a great way to commemorate 7/2/15! She can duplicate what she so graciously created for me, or, you can send her a photo of what you would like, and she can do that for you. I have had her do fraternity/sorority houses for my kids, houses, and even my daughter’s bridal bouquet as a wedding gift. She can also personalize on the back. Laura will make a contribution to SSB at a later date based on the number of orders that either reference my name, or SSB. I encourage you to reach out to Laura:
